Evaluation: We will
have three one-hour exams and a comprehensive final exam. There will also be quizzes in the
discussion sections, which will constitute a discussion grade. The course grade will be determined by the
following percentages:

Course
Policies:
1. |
If you cannot attend one
of the exams you should submit a written reason for your absence in advance of the exam date. In "emergency" situations call
the instructor's office (777-2483) before the test. The decision to allow make-up exams will be made by the instructor
on a case by case basis. No make-up exams will be given without advance
notice. |

The Use of
cell phones during exams is prohibited. |

Any appeal of grading must be submitted in
writing within one week of your receipt of the evaluation. |

An inexpensive calculator, which has the basic
math functions including square root is required for this course. This calculator will be needed during
exams. Students are expected to be
proficient in the use of the calculator of their choice. Students are responsible for having an operational calculator during
exams. Exam proctors will not provide a loaner calculator
for those who do not bring one to the exam.
Nor will students be permitted to borrow a calculator from another
student during exams. |

There will be 13 quizzes. Three quizzes will be dropped. There will be no makeup quizzes. Missed quizzes are included in the three
that are dropped. |
