A Message to Prospective Graduate Students

In our department, the pairing of Ph.D. candidates with advisors typically occurs after the completion of the first year of graduate study. This process is designed to give students ample time to familiarize themselves with the faculty and their respective research areas, while also providing faculty members with the opportunity to better understand the students’ capabilities and interests. I strongly encourage motivated students who are interested in my areas of research to apply directly to our Ph.D. program in Mathematical Sciences. Moreover, I encourage admitted Ph.D. students to talk to various faculty in the department once they arrive here to see the variety of expertise represented among the faculty.
