A Message to Prospective Graduate Students
Because I receive a large volume of emails from prospective graduate students interested in working with me, I am unable to respond to each one individually.
In our department, individual faculty members do not recruit PhD students directly. Instead, recruitment and admission are handled centrally by a faculty committee. Students are then paired with advisors after completing their first year of graduate study. This structure gives students time to become familiar with the faculty and their research areas, and it allows faculty to better understand each student’s strengths and interests.
If you are interested in my research areas, I encourage you to apply directly to our Ph.D. program in Mathematical Sciences.
Once enrolled, I encourage you to speak with a range of faculty members upon arrival, so you can see the breadth of expertise in the department before committing to a faculty advisor.
