Welcome to Section 7 of Math 330!

You will learn in this course how to think like a mathematician. Your goal will be to understand the nature of a rigorous, mathematical proof and how to write such proofs. The subject matter used to teach you this will be ••primarily taken from the theory of number systems and from real analysis.•• You will find more detail in the syllabus.

    Exams:
   
  1. Each midterm will last 60 minutes and the final exam will last 120 minutes.
  2. Midterms:
    • Exam 1: Wednesday, September 23. 100 points
    • Exam 2: Monday, Novenber 2. 100 points
  3. Make all arrangements necessary to take the tests at those dates. It is extremely unlikely that they will be moved.
  4. Final exam:
    • The final exam counts for 300 points. It will last two hours.
    • Date of the Final Exam: Please check the official Final Exams Schedule.

    • Final Exam makeup: TBD
    • Date and time for all finals are set by the registrar and there is absolutely no flexibility.
    • You can request a makeup final only if you have another final at the same time. (direct conflict) or you have three final exams scheduled within 24 hours.
      If you want to request to take the alternate final, please contact me by email no later than Monday, Nov 23.
