Welcome to Section 1 of Math 447!

This undergraduate level course on probability is a prerequisite course for Math 448 (Mathematical Statistics) and for the Math 450 - Math 458 actuarial and statistics courses. You will find more detail in the syllabus.

Lecture: Mon Wed Fri 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM in FA 209

    Deadlines:
   
  1. Add/Drop deadline: Monday, Feb 2
  2. Withdraw/Change Grade Option deadline: Tuesday, Mar 24
    Exams:
   
  1. Each midterm will last 60 minutes and the final exam will last 120 minutes.
    I will provide a formulasheet for the major exams.
  2. Midterms:
    • Exam 1: Wednesday, Feb 25. 130 points
    • Exam 2: , Friday Mar 20. 130 points
    • Exam 3: Wednesday, Apr 22. 140 points
  3. Make all arrangements necessary to take the tests at those dates. It is extremely unlikely that they will be moved.
  4. Final exam:
    • The final exam counts for 300 points. It will last two hours.
    • Date of the Final Exam: Please check the official Final Exams Schedule.

    • Final Exam makeup: TBD
    • Date and time for all finals are set by the registrar and there is absolutely no flexibility. You can request a makeup final if you have another final at the same time (direct conflict) or you have three final exams scheduled within 24 hours. If you want to request to take the alternate final, please contact me by email no later than Friday, Apr 24.
