Welcome to Section 2 of Math 447!

This undergraduate level course on probability is a prerequisite course for Math 448 (Mathematical Statistics) and for the Math 450 - Math 458 actuarial and statistics courses. You will find more detail in the syllabus.

Lecture: Mon Wed Fri 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM in SL 302

    Deadlines:
   
  1. Add/Drop deadline: Tuesday, Sep 3
  2. Withdraw/Change Grade Option deadline: Monday, Oct 28
    Exams:
   
  1. Each midterm will last 60 minutes and the final exam will last 120 minutes.
    I will provide a formulasheet for the major exams.
  2. Midterms:
    • Exam 1: Friday, September 20. 100 points
    • Exam 2: Friday, October 18. 150 points
    • Exam 3: Wednesday, November 13. 150 points
  3. Make all arrangements necessary to take the tests at those dates. It is extremely unlikely that they will be moved.
  4. Final exam:
    • The final exam counts for 300 points. It will last two hours.
    • Date of the Final Exam: Thu Dec 12, 2024 - 12:50 PM to 02:50 PM - S2 259
    • Final Exam makeup: Fri Dec 13, 2024 - 12:50 PM to 02:50 PM - UTC
    • Date and time for all finals are set by the registrar and there is absolutely no flexibility. You can request a makeup final if you have another final at the same time (direct conflict) or you have three final exams scheduled within 24 hours.
