Term Project Rules and Description

The due date is the last day of class, Friday, December 11, at 4:30 p.m..

Term Project Details

The topic is "modular arithmetic", which our book discusses in Section 6.2. You should start studying it as soon as possible. It's not essential to read that section but it will help. Some of Section 6.3 may also be of interest, but you don't need it to do the project.

In doing the project, you may use every definition, proposition, etc., that we did up to (and including) Section 6.1. You can use Section 6.2 to study, but don't base any of your work on results in 6.2, unless you proved them in working on the project.

The complete project is written out in this 2-page project description. [Dec. 5: There were errors! The m's and n's got mixed up. I fixed the problem. Download the corrected version now.]
