Sculptures from Spring and Summer 2023

On this page will be pictures of sculptures I made in Spring and Summer 2023.

On Feb. 26, 2023, I completed a wooden carving made from a 3"x3"x12" block of Brazillian Ebony. It is a Scherk Tower or Scherk Surface (of the second kind), that is, a surface consisting of alternating tunnels drilled through pairs of opposite sides, making saddles. Mathematical details of this surface can be found in Wikipedia through this link: Scherk surface. I have previously made a version of this surface by bronze casting, as well as a circular version as a kinetic sound sculpture (now owned by Ken Ono).
